March 11th 2022
With deep regret and sadness we have to announce the passing of our widely respected Chairman Dave Gudgeon on 18th February. He was much loved and appreciated by many in the community. Among other things, he was particularly involved with the Pabulum Dementia Support Group in Wymondham. Ultimately his experience and inspiration led to the creation of our St George’s Dementia Support Group, where he was the obvious and ideal choice to be appointed Chairman. His enthusiasm and commitment continued in that role, helping our group become so well established.
We send our most sincere condolences to his family. Dave will be greatly missed by so many and not forgotten.
Appointment of Acting Chairman
As a consequence, the committee of St George’s Dementia Support Group has decided to appoint Malcolm Cutts as Acting Chairman. This is until the formal election of Committee Members and Officers at the Annual General Meeting, on Monday 13th June 2022 at 11.30am in St George’s Hall, which is open for anyone to attend.

We’re delighted to announce that Mavin is joining us for the Cafe on 23rd August to get us moving a bit more, and laughing! Mavin has visited us before and is excellent at getting people moving and having fun using chair based exercises. Participation is entirely optional and we guarantee nothing strenuous is involved. Well worth joining us for this session whether or not you choose to participate in the exercises.

If one of your family or friends is living with Dementia and you live in or near Stoke Holy Cross or Poringland do come and join us at one of the upcoming dates. We’d love to meet you and no referral is necessary.
